A stay or visit to Ka Waboana Gite is all about indulging in a true local New Caledonia experience in the heart of nature. Its restaurant is also worth the detour for its local cuisine. Menus are based on a simple philosophy of the best quality local ingredients.  The “Mamans” of the Lodge use fresh organic ingredients, mostly fruits and vegetables cultivated in the Lodge’s Kitchen Garden–from pineapples, oranges and grapefruit, to coconuts, tarot, tomatoes and leafy greens. These are supplemented by local meats from the island's own cattle ranch and the catch of the day from local anglers. Cultural showplace of the East Coast and the historic fief of Jean-Marie Tjibaou, the Hienghène region offers many possibilities for exploring, both through its rich natural environment and the omnipresence of Kanak culture.
