ABOUT DESTINATION
Deva
Located along the central southern coast of Grande Terre (Main Island), Deva Domain in the Bourail district offers guests an experience away from the hustle and bustle of Nouméa. While only a 2.5 hour drive away, the resorts located in this area are in a world of their own with gorgeous sandy beaches and direct access to inviting waters, perfect for an early morning swim or snorkel. Visit Poe Beach and Roche Percee for outdoor activities like kayaking or some nature discovery along local hiking trails. The Deva Domain is the ultimate in relaxation, a perfect respite after the stresses and strains of the wedding!
Isle of Pines
When Captain Cook discovered Isle of Pines in 1774 he was so struck by the beautiful vegetation that he named the island accordingly. Ile des Pins, 25-minutes by plane from Noumea is truly one of the jewels of the South Pacific. If your idea of paradise includes white sand beaches, turquoise blue water, Pacific Island ambience and warmth combined with touches of French culture, look no further than a stay on Ile des Pins. The Kuniés, as the island's inhabitants are known, have kept alive the tradition of sailing pirogues (outrigger canoes), and you'll see these ancient craft gliding elegantly across the calm lagoon.
Noumea
Imagine a slice of France transported to the tropics – eating baguettes and croissants and being greeted with a “bonjour” each morning as you overlook beautiful blue waters of the tropics – and you start to get an idea of what Noumea has to offer. With an indescribable blend of traditional Melanesian and local Kanak culture sprinkled with French accents and trendy boutiques, you may need to do a double-take to remember where you are! Offering guests outdoor activities like hiking and horse riding, five-star dining and drinking options along the like you’d find in Europe and snorkelling and diving options that can’t be beaten anywhere else in the South Pacific, Noumea is a place to relax and absorb the tropical sun in a French surrounding!
