One of the major sporting events of New Caledonia, around the picturesque bays of Nouméa. New Caledonia International Marathon has become a key event in the annual sporting calendar and attracts around 150 competitors. Each year that this event has been conducted, it has attracted many athletes from around the world, all eager to participate in this challenging and pristine environment. A half-marathon is also organised for marathon enthusiasts who are not part of the elite category. This Race is unique and beautiful and we will be happy to welcome you for this 2019 edition. Let us show you Our Culture and Our Marathon!

RACE INFO

 

Entry Fees: Entry fees to the New Caledonia International Marathon are included as part of your package

Start time: The marathon and half-marathon will commence at 7:00am on Sunday, August 25. The 10km race starts at 7:15am.

Start line: The start is located in BLÉRIOT Street, just in front of the entrance to the hippodrome.

Transport: Two large free parking will be available just in front of the Racecourse but you must arrive before 6.30am as traffic is very limited after this time. 

Supplies: Every 5 km, mineral water, dry raisins, oranges and bananas are available in addition to your personal drinks.

Shower: Two shower stations shall be placed on the course. Washrooms are at your disposal under the stands.

Race Timing: A clock will give you your final arrival time.

Aid stations: Placed on arrival and each half-turn, an emergency station is ready to intervene.

SCHEDULE

Saturday 24 August

11:00am: briefing for the marathon runners under the stands of the hippodrome followed by pasta party which allows you in a friendly atmosphere to meet the event organising team and volunteers, and also to attend the presentation of foreign athletes and the best local athletes. For marathon runners only, don't forget to drop your special supplies (non-compulsory) during this pasta party from 11:00am to 3:00am.

Sunday 25 August

6.45am: calling of the competitors.

It is recommended to arrive before 6:30am to be able to park your vehicle at the hippodrome and get easy access to the departure place. You will then have time to soak up the atmosphere of pre-race, to get changed and warm up quietly before going on the starting line for 6.45 AM.

7:00am: start of the Marathon

7:00am: start of the half-marathon

7:15am: start of the 10 km

8:15am: departure of the 5km OUEN TORO raid

10:30am: departure of challenge Agnès BERNARD (children 8 to 13 years)

6:00pm: awards ceremony under the stands of the hippodrome followed by a cocktail offered by the Town Hall
